CONTENTS: AZAB 250, 250MG 6 PILLS
Broad-spectrum antibiotic azalid antibiotics, a representative of a new subgroup of macrolide antibiotics. In creating high inflammation in the center of inflammation it has a bactericidal effect.
Gram-positive cocci are sensitive to azithromycin: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes St., S. agalactiae, Streptococcus groups CF and G, Staphylococcus aureus, S. viridans; Gram-negative: Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Bordetella pertussis, B. parapertussis, Legionella, H. ducrei, Campylobacter jejuni, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Gardnerella vaginalis; Some anaerobic microorganisms: Bacteroides bivius, Clostridium perfringens, Peptostreptococcus spp; E Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Treponema pallidum, Borrelia burgdoferi.
Infectious diseases caused by drug-sensitive pathogens: upper respiratory tract and ENT infections – angina, sinusitis (inflammation of the paranasal sinuses), tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils / glands), otitis media (inflammation of the middle ear cavity); scarlet; Lower respiratory tract infections – bacterial and atypical pneumonia (pneumonia), bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi); Skin and soft tissue infections – erysipelas, impetigo (superficial, pustular skin with purulent crusting), secondarily infected dermatoses (skin diseases); Urogenital tract infections – gonococcal and non-gonococcal urethritis (inflammation of the urethra), and / or cervicitis (inflammation of the uterine cervix); Lyme disease (Lyme disease is an infectious disease caused by the Borrelia spirochete).
Method of application
Before appointing a patient to the drug, it is desirable to determine the sensitivity to the microflora that caused the disease in that patient. Azithromycin must be taken one hour before meals or 2 hours after meals. The drug is taken once a day.
Adults with upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections appoint the first day, 0.5 g, then 0.25 g of 2 to 5 days or 0.5 g per day (for 3 days a dose of course of 1 5 g).
For acute infections of the urogenital (genitourinary) tract, a single dose of 1 g (2 tablets of 0.5 g each) is prescribed.
In Lyme borreliosis (Lyme disease) to treat the first stage (Erythemamigrans) appoint 1 g (2 tablets of 0.5 g) on day 1 and 0.5 g per day from the 2nd to the 5th day (golf dose to 3 g),
Children are prescribed a drug considering their body weight. Children weighing more than 10 kg for the price: in the first day – 10 mg / kg of body weight; In the next 4 days – 5 mg / kg. A 3-day treatment course is possible; In this case, the single dose is 10 mg / kg. (Dosage rate 30 mg / kg body weight).
A 2-hour break between taking azithromycin and antacids (reduction of stomach acid) with their concomitant appointment is recommended.
Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, more rarely – vomiting and flatulence (accumulation of gas in the intestine). A transient (transient) increase in the activity of liver enzymes is possible. It is extremely rare – rash.
Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics. Care should be taken when prescribing the medicinal product to patients with severe hepatic and renal insufficiency. Azithromycin is not prescribed during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless the benefits of using the drug exceed the potential risk. The drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions (anamnesis).
