Description
Doxee (Doxycycline) – Semi-synthetic broad spectrum tetracyclic antibiotic. It has a bacteriostatic effect by inhibiting the pathogens of protein synthesis.
It is active against aerobic Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (Including penicillinase producing strains), Streptococcus spp. (Including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Bacillus anthracis, Listeria monocytogenes; anaerobic bacteria: Clostridium spp.
With Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to doxycycline, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., Most strains of Bacteroides fragilis.
Doxee dosage regimen
Adult in or in (drip) administered 200 mg / day on the first day of treatment, the following days: 100-200 mg / day. Multiplicity of reception (or / infusion) – 1-2 times / day. Doxee side effect
Doxycycline has the following side effects:
From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dysphagia, glossitis, esophagitis, transient increase in blood levels of hepatic transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin.
From the hematopoiesis system: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia.
Allergic reactions: rash, itching, eosinophilia, rarely – angioedema, photosensitivity.
Other: increased residual nitrogen, candidiasis, intestinal dysbiosis, tooth discoloration in children.
